TikTok Shop FBT fees are changing in the US on two dates: November 1, 2026 for selected heavy-item fulfillment fees, and November 10 for inventory exit charges. A lower outbound fee does not settle the whole decision. Include the cost of getting stock into the network, storing it, handling returns and removing unsold units. The worked example below leaves $19 per order after those allowances, compared with $25.40 if you count only the outbound fee.
The short version
- A lower outbound quote changes one line of your budget; it does not remove the other costs.
- Set money aside for units you may need to remove, as well as units you expect to sell.
- Compare complete fulfillment costs using the same product, order mix and sales forecast.
Which TikTok Shop FBT fees change in November?
The official US FBT rate card sets out two effective dates. We checked it on October 29; its document date is not the start date of either change.
| Effective date | Change | Budget action |
|---|---|---|
| November 1, 2026 | Lower single-unit fulfillment fees in the 70–150 lb tiers | Check whether your item and order qualify |
| November 10, 2026 | Updated exit inventory schedule | Reprice planned stock removals separately |
Do not apply a percentage saving to every SKU. Compare the relevant before-and-after fee for the same chargeable weight and order configuration. This guide does not reproduce a complete per-tier fulfillment table; take that quote from the current rate card or FBT Portal.
Keep FBT separate from platform shipping labels
TikTok's US logistics overview distinguishes FBT inventory in TikTok-operated warehouses from TikTok Shipping labels used with your own or a third-party warehouse. Our US peak-season shipping guide addresses the latter. A Standard Delivery label rate is not an FBT fulfillment quote.
The FBT overview describes storage, packing and delivery as parts of the service. It also describes 60 days of free storage for inbound inventory. That allowance is useful, but a replenishment plan still needs a slower-sales scenario for stock that stays longer.
Build a complete cost for the unit you expect to sell
The FBT outbound fee includes picking, packing, packaging and last-mile delivery. Do not add a second allowance for those same services. Add costs outside that fee only when you bear them: inbound freight, applicable placement, storage, customer-return losses and stock removal.
Keep each allowance traceable. Divide a chosen inbound batch cost by the units it covers. Allocate storage using the stock and time you expect to hold. For returns, estimate the net loss after any recovered inventory and fee reversals, rather than adding the full refunded selling price to every other cost.
Order configuration matters too. The Virtual Bundles guide says FBT charges per item using the bundle's item count and each item's weight. A virtual bundle listing does not turn several warehouse picks into one unit. Get a separate quote for a prepacked physical bundle instead of assuming its economics match.
Example: a $120 order and a $16 fulfillment input
Assume one unit per customer order at $120, $45 product cost, an illustrative 6% referral fee ($7.20), a chosen 12% creator commission ($14.40) and $12 advertising cost. The example excludes sales tax from revenue and assumes no discounts, shopper shipping income or separate promotion fees. Confirm the category referral fee and your creator terms before using your own figures.
That leaves $120 − $45 − $7.20 − $14.40 − $12 = $41.40 before fulfillment and the allowances below. Every dollar input in this table is a planning assumption, not a published FBT rate, a November saving or a market average.
| Cost or allowance | Assumed amount | How to replace it |
|---|---|---|
| Outbound FBT fulfillment | $16.00 | Applicable SKU and order quote |
| Inbound freight allocation | $2.00 | Batch freight divided by covered units |
| Applicable placement allocation | $1.00 | Your selected routing charges |
| Storage allocation | $0.60 | Projected inventory and time held |
| Expected net customer-return loss | $1.80 | Your mature return outcomes |
| Expected stock-removal allocation | $1.00 | Removal budget spread across planned sales |
| Total modeled cost | $22.40 | Each cost counted once |
Contribution is $41.40 − $22.40 = $19.00 per order before fixed overhead and income tax. Counting only the $16 outbound fee would show $25.40. The omitted $6.40 would overstate the forecast by $640 across 100 orders.
If the target is $20 contribution per order, the maximum outbound fee is $41.40 − $6.40 − $20 = $15.00 with the other inputs unchanged. Compare your actual quote with that ceiling. A fee reduction helps only the lines to which it applies; it does not eliminate the rest of the budget.
Price inventory exits separately from customer returns
Section G's November 10 inventory exit table lists $0.35 processing per unit and $0.68/lb for freight, comprising $0.53 shipping plus $0.15 fuel surcharge. The freight rate shown before November 10 is $0.39/lb. These are stock-removal charges, not an outbound customer-delivery quote.
For an illustrative removal of 20 units with a total billable freight weight of 200 lb, the new freight component is 200 × $0.68 = $136. Add 20 × $0.35 = $7 processing: $143 before any additional quoted services. The old freight component alone would be $78; the freight difference is $58. That comparison does not claim the old and new total service bills are otherwise identical.
Removing inventory also does not mean writing its product value down to zero. Keep the removal bill separate from the stock's recoverable value and any later resale cost. Customer returns and disposal are different outcomes and need their own applicable quote.
If that $143 is your expected removal budget and you plan 100 customer orders, its allocation is $1.43 per order. Replacing the earlier $1 stock-removal assumption with $1.43 reduces contribution from $19 to $18.57, or $1,857 across 100 orders. Keep a separate cash date for the full removal bill; the per-order allocation does not spread the actual payment over time.
Enter the comparison in Marqflow and reconcile the bill
For the first example, enter $120 price, $45 product cost, 12% creator commission, $12 ad cost, the assumed 6% referral fee and $16 fulfillment cost in the US calculator. Put the remaining $6.40 in Other cost per order. Use a $20 contribution target as a comparison benchmark, not as a guaranteed result.
The $1.80 allowance already represents expected net customer-return losses. Do not also model those same losses through a separate return-rate assumption. Alternatively, remove that allowance and build a detailed returns scenario. Marqflow accepts your inputs; it does not fetch a live FBT quote or determine eligibility for a November rate.
The settlement report guide separates FBT fulfillment charges, shipping credits and offsets, and warehouse-service adjustments. Reconcile those lines before treating a shipping credit as additional income. Our settlement-to-profit walkthrough shows how to add costs paid outside the platform.
- Save the SKU, chargeable weight, unit count, applicable effective date and services included in each quote.
- Compare one ordinary customer order and one multi-unit configuration you actually expect to sell.
- Stress-test slower stock movement, returns and an inventory exit before committing a larger inbound batch.
- Match the first relevant bill to the quote and replace forecast allowances with actual costs as the cohort matures.
Questions sellers ask
Does free shipping for the shopper mean FBT is free for the seller?
No. Budget the applicable FBT fulfillment charge and other costs you bear. The settlement report separates the fulfillment fee from shipping credits and offsets, so a displayed credit should not automatically be counted as extra income.
Does the November 1 FBT fee reduction apply to every product?
No. It is limited to the heavy single-unit tiers described above. Check your SKU and order configuration against the applicable table before changing a forecast.
Does Marqflow automatically use the new FBT rate?
No. Enter your applicable fulfillment quote and other allocated costs. In the illustrative $120 example, $16 fulfillment plus $6.40 other costs leaves $19 contribution per order under the stated fee, creator and advertising assumptions.
